Chaos

If you read what Glenn Beck has to say about chaos, it would seem that he's got some fairly valid points regarding our world's current state of affairs; sociologically, technologically, ideologically, economically... you name it, it seems to look as though things are not going well. Just consider what Andrew Klavan says about all the investigations.

It seems from all indications today that a man, elected by those in our nation who recognized the danger of where our country and culture were headed, is being persistently and relentlessly being bombarded with unsubstantiated claims - see my previous post titled "Death by a Thousand Leaks" in order to weaken the appearance of legitimacy to his presidency.

Yes, I'm old enough to have experienced similar circumstances where it seemed as though things were deteriorating rapidly and the situation was spinning out of control - as has occurred many times in the past - but what is different now? In those previous times when things seemed to be so bad that it appeared the world was going to end, were all prophetic indicators in play? I suspect not.

However, witnessing the current developments in social and political circumstances, the reactions by our youth and media today seem to indicate that most, if not all of the prophetic indicators are in play now. Our current civilization has more information because of the Internet, but where has wisdom, honesty and integrity gone? Russian cyber manipulation, North Korean nuclear tipped missiles, a massively growing and out-of-control national debt that is on the brink of being beyond reducing, the vulnerability of our technological infrastructure being taken down by either North Korea via an Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP), or a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the sun, are causing those who have no psychological "anchor" to lean on are having a difficult time these days dealing with so much uncertainty.

Prophetically, there's the following passage from the New Testament, 2 Timothy 3: 1 - 5 in the N.I.V. which reads:

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them."

Those who have been blessed to recognize this situation understand the need to "... gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of  Jesus Christ; ..." 1 Peter 1:13 KJV, or, as the NIV reads, "Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled, set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed."

And finally, there's 1 John 5:4-5, "...for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God."
