How "Fake News" Happens

This practice has been going on much longer than the president's time in office.

Here's an example; An article is printed, or posted, and it paints a picture of circumstances which causes the reader - the vast majority of who know nothing to very little about the actual circumstances of the situation, or conditions, and based on that information conclude incorrectly.

I'm referring to the technique of facts by omission. The writer's not lied, or deliberately mislead the reader, they've just not included all the pertinent facts which play into the scenario.

Here's a specific example I found this morning: "Tensions rise in federal prisons as weary prison guards go without pay, work double shifts" is the headline (written to report how the partial government shutdown is negatively impacting federal "non-essential" employees):

Doug Wiser: I was working 16 hour mandatory overtime shifts before I retired and there was no shutdown in effect. Not once a month, several times a week. That is why I retired the day after I became eligible. Around 100 new staff quit in the year we opened a new federal penitentiary. They couldn't get people to stay on the job because of the long hours and no notice that you were going to have to work 16 hours straight from day to day.
In order to find this comment, I had to click on a "Comments" button at the bottom of the page to get to another page and read them.

While I recognize the dangerous and important job they have, I can't help but recall my experience as a young man in the military just out of high school complaining about the conditions (duration of our shifts on the flight line during the end of the Vietnam War) of our job and how someone older than I retorted to me; "You've got nothing to complain about. You enlisted voluntarily, get paid each month, and get three hot meals and a cot to sleep on in your tent. Stop whining and do you job!"

Sen. Charles Schumer Wants This Article BANNED From the Internet

January 10, 2019

by Frank Holmes, reporter

Donald Trump has said the United States needs a wall on the southern border to keep out terrorists bent on committing unthinkable crimes against Americans.

The Democrats and the media say there’s nothing to worry about — that it’s all a “manufactured crisis.”

But undeniable evidence proves that radical Islamic terrorists have been crossing into the U.S. through the Southwest for years — and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer does NOT want American voters to know about it.

A little-publicized article ripped the lid off just one terrorist pathway from the Middle East into the U.S.

Terrorists from Iran, Pakistan, Iraq and other state sponsors of terror fly into South America and cross into Panama and Costa Rica on their way to the Rio Grande… and our allies know all about it!

Todd Bensman of the Center for Immigration Studies went to Panama and Costa Rica to report on this terrorist pipeline firsthand for The Federalist. He revealed shocking details about the life-threatening plot.

As many as 700 illegal immigrants a week cross into Panama, where the government lets them rest before helping them move closer to the United States.

The governments call the program “Controlled Flow” — because the illegals and terrorists just keep flowing toward the U.S.!

Once they reach Costa Rica, they rest in Golfito camp for a few days.

But officials in both countries tip off the U.S. if there are terrorists in the pack — like when they arrested Ibrahim Qoordheen, a Somalian suspected to be a terrorist affiliated with Al-Shabaab, an Al-Qaeda affiliate.

But sometimes the terrorists slip through the cracks — like “upwards of 100 people” who were smuggled from the Middle East to the U.S. by Sharafat Ali Khan.

Illegals from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh paid Khan up to $15,000 apiece for him to get them into the U.S. Some of them hoped to wage jihad against innocent Americans on U.S. soil.

“Several of the individuals smuggled by Khan’s organization had suspected ties to terrorist organizations,” according to ICE, which deported Khan to Pakistan last December.

Officials said one of the Afghanis had family members in the Taliban, and that he planned to commit terrorist acts after he crossed the U.S. border with Mexico.

Khan may be the most successful terrorist-smuggler busted by immigration authorities, but there are so many others.

The same month that ICE — the organization Congressional Democrats want to abolish — sent Khan packing, the international police organization INTERPOL also arrested illegals with ties to terrorism who were trying to enter the U.S. through Mexico.

This has been going on for years… while previous administrations did absolutely nothing about it.

Back in September 2014, Texas officials arrested four Turks who were affiliated with a terrorist organization after they crossed the border.

“This incident proves what enforcement experts have always known, and that is there are existing networks in Mexico and Central America that have been set up and cultivated by a variety of terrorist organizations to enable them to move people into the United States illegally,” said Jessica Vaughan of CIS at the time.

Donald Trump is right; there’s just no denying it (unless you’re the Fake News media).

NBC News tried to downplay the fact that federal agents nabbed “just 6 immigrants on US-Mexico border in first half of fiscal year 2018 whose names were on a federal government list of known or suspected terrorists.”

“Just”?!

How many would be acceptable, then?

The networks may try to cover for the Democrats but people have already suffered because of our wide-open borders.

Abdulahi Hasan Sharif allegedly stabbed a police officer before he ran over four people with a U-Haul in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on September 30, 2017.

Sharif, who was affiliated with Al-Shabaab, had an ISIS flag in his car.

And guess how he got to Canada? He took the same route from his native Somalia to Brazil, and then through the U.S. border with Mexico. He just decided to move on to Canada, where he is charged with five counts of attempted murder.

How can Democrats sleep at night knowing that their open borders policies left blood on the streets of Edmonton — and blood on their hands?

“I believe what is happening right now at the border is that the Democrats are putting the lives of others who are coming to our country—trying to come in illegally—ahead of the rights of Americans who are here,” Rep. Doug Collins, GA-R, told PBS on Wednesday. “I believe the president is putting Americans first. I believe he is putting our citizenry first.”

Cringworthy Response By Democrats

In analyzing the Democratic response to Pres. Trump's prime time address to the nation last night, Lyin' Bryan Williams on MSNBC couldn't escape laughing with his two hosts about how it came across to the nation.

Check out this script and video via MRC-TV's site which featured it. I especially couldn't help laughing with them when James Carville mentioned what he looked forward to more, than watching responses to presidential addresses.

In case you missed the President's address, here it is.

Examples of Biased Ignorance

I've posted remarks on this blog for months, if not years, pointing out how the public in general are easily manipulated and biased against a particular view, or ideology.

But this video from Campus Reform via MRC-TV demonstrates beautifully how successful and effective the Media (D) is on the younger generations who, in the circumstance in this video reveals, are unaware of just how uninformed they really are and that they need to stop and engage in the world around them, rather than just accepting what they hear at face value.

And yes, I include conservatives in the above statement as well, since many of us are just as capable of accepting things without thinking critically and verifying our sources.

Why Build the Wall?

What is the Media (D) ignoring about the immigration crisis our nation faces today?

To answer that question, I urge you to watch this video. I just wish Pres. Trump would articulate this information as well as this man does:

More importantly, I would like to hear Speaker Pelosi (D) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D) explain how the "wall" is immoral and is a "waste of money" when we've spent 50+ Trillion on poverty with Welfare, and we NEVER hear any success stories about this program lifting anyone out of poverty!

A Study In Elitist Hubris

If anyone now, or in the future, wants a perfect example of how the Media (D) today - ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC - has become elitist and so narrow minded that they don't even realize how blinded in their Trump Derangement Syndrome condition they are, this is it!

This is the "pies de' resistance" of show how fascistic they are in their thinking.

As my long-time readers already know, I've been focusing on how the "talking heads" are so isolated in their ivory studios of broadcasting they don't even realize how they're coming across to much of the population lately.

What am I talking about?

On Monday, only yesterday, President Trump announced on Twitter that he would speak to the nation via television about the ongoing "crisis" of funding the "wall" during the ongoing partial government shutdown.

This announcement immediately launched a rumor mill into the stratosphere over what the president would say and do.

Reports have flooded the web that he'd declare a national emergency and possibly use the military to build the "wall" in whatever form was possible, depending on where he got the funds from.

However, the reaction of some "talking heads" such as CNN has revealed just how biased and one-sided they've become in their commenting about this announcement. In fact, it's even come down to debating whether they would even broadcast his speech.

As you read the script of their exchange, and watch the brief video clip included, pay close attention to the fact that they are using the point of accuracy from THEIR view. Note also, how even Cuomo, who' for allowing it, is using this angle to tear apart any reasonable and factual arguments the president may make tonight. This is a great example of just how extreme and fascistic they actually are towards any counter ideas Trump may have to support the issue of this circumstance.

Of course, the Democrats are demanding that they get their equal time to rebut his speech points; you'd think that the "talking heads" at CNN were debating whether or not to let their comrades have the opportunity. You can only imagine what Speaker Pelosi and Minority Leader of the Senate are going to be countering with.

It will most likely be another great example of their continued poking their fingers into their ears and blathering "La, la, la, la, la.....!!!"

Why Youth Today Have No Clue How Spoiled They Are

'Someone asked the other day, 'What was your favorite fast food when you were growing up?'

'We didn't have fast food when I was growing up,   I informed him.
'All the food was slow.'

'C'mon, seriously. Where did you eat?'

'It was a place called 'at
Home,'' I explained. !

'Mom cooked every day and when Dad got home from work, we sat down together at the dining room table, and if I didn't like what she put on my plate I was allowed to sit there until I did like it.'

By this time, the kid was laughing so hard I was afraid he was going to suffer serious internal damage, so I didn't tell him the part about how I had to have permission to leave the table.

But here are some other things I would have told him about my childhood if I figured his system could have handled it :

Some parents NEVER owned their own house, never wore Levis, never set foot on a golf course, never traveled out of the country or had a credit card.

In their later years they had something called a revolving charge card. The card was good only at  Sears & Roebuck.
Either way, there is no Roebuck anymore. Maybe he died. Now there's not even a Sears anymore!

My parents never drove me to soccer practice. This was mostly because we never had heard of soccer.

I had a bicycle that weighed probably 50 pounds, and only had one speed, (slow)
We didn't have a television in our house until I was 11.

It was, of course, black and white, and the station went off the air at midnight, after playing the national anthem and a poem about God; it came back on the air at about 6 a.m. And there was usually a locally produced news and farm show on, featuring local people.

I was 19 before I tasted my first pizza, it was called 'pizza pie.' When I bit into it, I burned the roof of my mouth and the cheese slid off, swung down, plastered itself against my chin and burned that, too. It's still the best pizza I ever had.

I never had a telephone in my room. The only phone in the house was in the living room and it was on a party line. Before you could dial, you had to listen and make sure some people you didn't know weren't already using the line. Oh yea, all phones then were connected to a wire that went out to the street & a telephone poll.

Pizzas were not delivered to our home, but milk was; in glass bottles with cardboard caps!

All newspapers were delivered by boys and all boys delivered newspapers   --   my brother delivered a newspaper, six days a week. It cost 7 cents a paper, of which he got to keep 2 cents.  He had to get up at 6 AM every morning.

On Saturday, he had to collect the 42 cents from his customers. His favorite customers were the ones who gave him 50 cents and told him to keep the change. His least favorite customers were the ones who seemed to never be home on collection day.

Movie stars kissed with their mouths shut. At least, they did in the movies. There were no movie ratings because all movies were responsibly produced for everyone to enjoy viewing, without profanity or violence or most anything offensive.

If you grew up in a generation before there was fast food, you may want to share some of these memories with your children or grandchildren

Just don't blame me if they bust a gut laughing.

Growing up isn't what it used to be, is it?

MEMORIES from a friend :

My Dad is cleaning out my grandmother's house (she died in December) and he brought me an old Royal Crown Cola bottle. In the bottle top was a stopper with a bunch of holes in it. I knew immediately what it was, but my daughter had no idea. She thought they had tried to make it a salt shaker or something. I knew it as the bottle that sat on the end of the ironing board to 'sprinkle' clothes with because we didn't have steam irons. Man, I am old.

How many do you remember?

Head lights dimmer switches on the floor.

Ignition switches on the dashboard.

Heaters mounted on the inside of the fire wall.

Real ice boxes.

Pant leg clips for bicycles without chain guards.

Soldering irons you heat on a gas burner.

Using hand signals for cars without turn signals.
