The advances in technology are beginning to dominate our culture today in most every aspect.
Smart TVs, self-driving cars, wi-fi, regular updates to computers and phones, GPS, smart beds, and the list keeps on growing.
With it comes the ever repetative news of Google, Facebook (a.k.a. Fascistbook), and Twitter's invasive collection of data about Silicon Valley and how these tech-titans are collecting almost every bit of data from every cell phone and computer user for sale.
It's now known that Google is working with China again to develop a censored search engine which many believe may be implemented there in the future.
Those adults working in Silicon Valley are driving this behemoth of an industry, and one would naturally think that those adults who have children would be providing them with the latest and best technology available given the incomes they're pulling down.
Not so, says SFGATE's latest article, a San Francisco based online publication.
The Silicon Valley nannies are the phone police for the children of most workers with children at many tech-giants in the San Mateo/San Jose metropolitan area of California these days.
So, while these companies are working furiously to saturate the use of their products, those workers who are parents are being very strict about their own children's use of those products.
What does this tell you? Might this example of our modern tech culture be one of the many? (Caution: This may be disturbing and shocking to some viewers.)

Welcome to the Conservative Side of the Fence!
A
young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many
others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among
other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support
more government programs – in other words, redistribution of wealth.
She
was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, a
feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had
participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that
her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what
he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.
He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken
aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let
him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a
very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her
no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even
have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends
because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"
She
replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes,
she never studies and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on
campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the
parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because
she's too hung over."
Her
father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and
ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only
has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that
would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."
The
daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired
back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I've worked really
hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work!
Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I
worked my tail off!"
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the conservative side of the fence."
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If
a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat. If a liberal is a
vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If
a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his
situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If
a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal
non-believer wants any mention of God and Jesus silenced.
If
a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for
it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the
rest of us pay for his.
If
a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a
good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he or she is "offended."

The Case for Building the Wall
For those looking for a direct and straightforward argument for why we as a nation are justified in demanding that a southern border wall be built, here is a good one.
The late Charles Krauthammer, author of the New York Times best seller Things That Matter, is the presenter in this recent PragerU video on the topic.
I recommend viewing this 5 minute 30 second presentation of the reasons behind why our immigration issue sorely needs reworking.
Satirical Democratic Party Campaign Ad
Need clarity, or just a good laugh, about what the liberal/leftists are saying in this current mid-term season?
Look no further, because this video brilliantly conveys it all.
If this doesn't get across the kind of divisive rhetoric the Dems are pushing today, I don't know what does.
Oh... and BTW, if you'd like to have a fresh reminder of just how hypocritical politicians can be, check out this Twiter post by President Trump today.

Is the American Dream Alive and Well?
As our nation approaches the mid-terms anyone who pays any attention to what's going on knows that things have gone from bad to worse; or has it?
If we look at the political situation - the leftists doing everything they can to slow down the achievements of President Trump - then it seems that our wagon's wheels are getting wobbly to the point of possibly falling off.
However, if we look at the turn around that President Trump has done to this country just short of two years, it's amazing that things are looking as well as they are when looking at the statistics of employment, unemployment, production, trade, etc. In the last four months I've seen more signs on businesses and heard more advertisements on radio nearly begging skilled workers to work for them in my little corner of the country.
Yahoo Finance recently posted an interview with Ken Langone; co-founder of Home Depot. The title of the interview was the same as the title of this post. His remarks about our nation's place in world history is a treat because it provides a real world perspective from someone who came from very humble beginnings and made the most of the opportunity for success that our nation provides.
Only you can decide whether the "American Dream" is alive and well, but I believe you'll enjoy watching it!

A Little More Than A Year After Las Vegas, and...
more suspicious details have surfaced from it that calls into question why the Las Vegas Police have claimed Paddock acted alone and could find no motive for his mass murder of 58 people.
To learn of the new details from a former CIA individual who's been scrutinizing these details, watch this video of him explaining them here.

Do We Have A Two-Tiered Justice System?
There are many who believe we don't have a different set of rules for the "elite" than the average working stiff.
Well, for those who need proof that it does exist, read this article, then check back with me.
