The Occam's Razor of Politics?

When bills introduced in Congress that are simple and direct, it tends to mystify members of Congress, throwing them off balance and becoming prone to fits of incomprehensible confusion, who've become used to complexity. (Both a Democrat & Republican Congressperson have said, "We have to pass the bill to understand what's in it.")

Congressman Mo Brooks, (R) of Alabama who happens to be a member of the Freedom Caucus, is the second member of Congress to introduce a "one liner" that follows the example of another bill to eliminate the Dept. of Education, introduced by Rep. Thomas Massi (R) of Kentucky. (As a retired public school educator of 30 years, I fully support such a concept to eliminate a "black hole" of taxes for a federal program which has done NOTHING to improve the learning of students, but only overwhelmed educators with more bureaucratic diktats and made the cost of education more expensive.)

Only this one attempts to correct the screw up of Speaker Ryan's immense ego trip of pushing a bill which didn't align with the President's campaign promise to repeal & replace Obamacare.
